Punk Rock Bowling Festival LIneup

Punk Rock Bowling announces complete festival lineup

Well, here it is!  Punk Rock Bowling has announced their complete festival lineup today and it’s looking pretty fucking good.  I’m not crazy about some of the headliners but my friend Josh tells me I really need to revisit Refused as I’ve never really gotten into them. Like any festival lineup, there will be hits and misses and it’s been amazing to watch the discourse on BYO Records, Punk Rock Bowling Facebook Group.  Every step of the way, members of the group give the Stern Brothers grief and praise as new acts are added and others are left off to the joy and chagrin of devout Punks and loyal Stern brother disciples. My favorite part of Punk Rock Bowling is the post festival club dates that take place every evening on Fremont Street in Downtown Vegas when the festival lets out.  Those acts have yet to be announced and I’m eager to see how they round out this one of a kind festival experience that features everything from pool parties to bowling tournaments alongside your favorite punk rock icons.  If you’ve never been to Punk Rock Bowling then this should be the year you finally take the dive… the stage

Brian "Wimpy" Goble

A written eulogy for Subhumans frontman, Brian “Wimpy” Goble by Joe “Shithead” Keithley

Brian Goble Eulogy RIP  by Joe Keithley, D.O.A. Brian Goble aka Wimpy aka Sunny Boy aka Sunny Boy Roy has left us and this world is much poorer because of that. Brian, just 28 days short of his 58th birthday died of a heart attack on Sunday December 7th, 2014. I am writing this because of the loss and heartache I feel out of losing a lifelong friend, but also to remember what a vital and amazing person Wimpy was. The toughest part is the thinking about the children he has left behind, his son Dylan, his daughter Sarah and his step son Cole, who Brian helped raise. My most heartfelt condolences to them and to Brian’s older brother Roger. I first met Brian in 1963 walking home from Lochdale Elementary School in Burnaby, BC. Around the same time I also met Gerry Hannah (Gerry Useless) who lived very near Brian, they were six years old and I was seven and we all lived on Burnaby Mountain. About four years later the three of us befriended Ken Montgomery (Dimwit), whose family had moved to the Lochdale area. From elementary to high school our friendship grew, through our collective love of

Spooky-Tu Shoes Presents: Rocky Horror Hipster Show

Last night I was lucky enough to shoot this years edition of Spooky-Tu Shoes at Dirty Laundry in Hollywood. Spooky-Tu Shoes is a Halloween party thrown by Anthony Giancola of What Cheer? Productions and Professional Skater Patrick Melcher. Last year was my first experience with a Spooky-Tu shoes Halloween party, and it was a thrilling event, get it? Thrilling, like thriller, like Michael Jackson, it was the theme of the party… Ok moving on, this year’s theme was Rocky Horror picture show. The whole bar was packed with a crowd of people dressed in Halloween costumes. As a photographer I was extremely happy with the turn out of costumed party goers, it just makes my night a bit more pleasant. I mean come on have you seen the costumes girls wear these days? A lot of people were dressed to the theme of the party that made the show that much greater.   The cast performed a flawless rendition of Rocky Horror Picture Show that included members such as Michelle Jupiter of Isaac Rother and the Phantoms. They did the whole movie with little modernized changes and additions such as the use of hash tags and crap like that.
