Peaches is an electroclash institution, a pillar of feminist punk in the 90s, a Canadian. Peaches is still going strong, still putting on the most spirited shows in any genre, still releasing albums that are relevant additions to her discography and to the culture at large.

No Lube So Rude may not be her most lyrically profound album, it may not be the densest with singles that will explode on the radio, but it is full of sex anthems that will assuredly pop off live and inspire sexual experiences across the spectrum.

I remember the last time I saw Peaches live. I recall thinking, some artists age gracefully, other artists age satirically. She came out on stage pushing a walker equipped with squeaky sound effects and fake hanging titties. Taking that theme further, the first track on No Lube So Rude is “Hanging Titties.” An ode to the older ladies still getting action, Peaches fiercely pronounces her sexual power while taking aim at both nepo babies and technocrats, the spiritual cock blocks of our time.

“Fuck Your Face” elevates the industrial electronic production of her discography with a track that is heavy, fast, dark, and evocative of EBM dance feels. The title track, “No Lube So Rude,” recalls the jivey, poppy electroclash feels that propelled Peaches’ art to the peaks of any night on the dance floor. The song is about sexual fearlessness and pride, widening the umbrella of what should be considered appropriate.

“Whatcha Gonna Do About It” is Peaches’ battle cry, a soundtrack to go out for a night of partying and picking up partners. “Panna Cotta Delight” is not just a creamy Italian dessert anymore, it is a Peaches song that pops and locks the listener with an infectious dance tune.

“Fuck How You Wanna Fuck” is the perfect encapsulation of acceptance of all forms of sex as healthy expressions. “Not in Your Mouth None of Your Business” is a musical counterpunch to a society that believes it is in a position to tell people how they should live. This is one of the tracks on the album that could be just as anthemic in protest as it can be in the bedroom or on the dance floor.

“Take It” represents a vulnerable shift in the album’s tone, expressing sadness and lamentation. This song almost feels like it is about the consequences of fighting for sexual and romantic liberty.

“Riding on this wave celebrate love
One foot in the grave never enough
You were always there for the good times
You were always there for the glory”

“Grip” is a dance track that juggles between a low key head bobber and a bombastic head banger. It is able to deliver clarity of thought while also inspiring detachment at the same time. Like a firm grip slipping, the song’s sonic character is a mirror of its lyrics.

“You’re Alright” is the album’s last sexual training soundtrack, giving the listener hot tips on how to titillate while also giving Peaches the podium to proclaim herself as the queen, like any good MC.

“Be Love” is the album’s closer, a peek inside Peaches’ true intentions, not to be some kind of sexual ringmaster like many of her songs may suggest. Instead, she wants to be love itself, to embrace those living in a society that makes them feel unsure and ashamed. Peaches’ music may have the sheen of party anthems, but it is at those parties she is hosting where people can find shelter, community, and safety.

No Lube So Rude is not Peaches’ best album, but it is full of songs that have their place in a smart listener’s life. If Peaches delivers the right live experience to pair with these songs, I am talking lots of skin tight leather to establish her as the dom in the room, then I think these songs will land especially hard on audiences.

Other NEW February 27, 2026 Releases:

Rob Zombie: The Great Satan (released February 27, 2026)- Nuclear Blast Records

Rob Zombie has come back into underground popularity as of late. People are rediscovering how cool White Zombie was and how essential Rob’s solo music was to every millennial metalhead’s upbringing. Today, he returns with The Great Satan, an album that feels more underground than the rest of his discography, with grislier vocals and production. You get the sense that all Rob’s touring with Ministry saw Uncle Al’s sensibility rubbing off on him. Zombie has also reunited with ex White Zombies, Blakso (Rob Nicholson) and Mike Riggs for the first time in well over 20 years.

Nothing: Love Is Not Enough (Released February 27, 2026)- Run For Cover Records

Hardcore’s favorite shoegaze band Nothing is back with A Short History of Decay. Hitting those sensitive notes with the lushest of guitars, Nothing gives every mosher the emotional outlet they need away from their brutal routine. This album is simultaneously a journal entry full of deeply personal sadness and happiness, a lamentation for an unjust world becoming a fascist prison planet, and an escape from reality via heavy lullaby jams.

Gorillaz: The Mountain (released February 27, 2026)- Kong

We have spent so much time gushing over Gorillaz and their new album after seeing their live show and House of Kong art gallery that we have to mention The Mountain. This is Gorillaz’ most spiritual album, with incredible guests and a blend of world music spanning Middle Eastern, Latin, and Indian sounds. Look out for our full review of the tour, album and their gallery opening for House of Kong, coming soon.

These machines kill fascists.  We wish you the happiest of Janky Fresh Fridays.  Enjoy your new music!
