The Book of Revelation Records: Judge, 7 Seconds, Side by Side and Youth of Today at 1720

Revelation Records is perhaps hardcore’s most iconic record label. With heavyweights like Gorilla Biscuits, 7 Seconds and Youth of Today in their lineup, the label has cemented their place as a necessary pillar of an entire genre. Even today, Revelation Records is still just as relevant, giving hardcore artists like Torso and Primal Rite the “rub” that extends their reach all around the world, a world that would be much softer without Revelation Records. related content: Two Times The Biscuit Power: Gorilla Biscuits at The Roxy This special weekend, where four of the label’s most influential bands would share the same stage on two co-headlining nights, was an event that could only take place in Los Angeles, at 1720, and booked by SOS Productions. 7 Seconds and Judge on Night 1, Youth of Today and the final Side by Side reunion show on Night 2. The Growlers Reclaim Castle Beach Goth and all is Right with the World Again

I love Beach Goth because The Growlers know how to book a festival better than anyone blessed enough to have their own festival. In the age of mixed bills, Beach Goth offers the total package every summer, with hip hop, hardcore, punk, metal, garage, goth, and everything in between. Usually, the festival would be two days with headliners that you could opt to see instead of the Growlers each night. This was partly due to the ambition of last year’s festival. Last year was artistically a massive success, with the Geto Boys, Bad Brains, and even a Butthole Surfers reunion. It’s also important to mention that last year, the festival was called “The Growlers 6” because someone had the audacity to try and claim ownership of the name. Call it whatever you’d like, Growlers or Beach Goth, it was

Take This: Win 2 Tickets to The Growler’s Beach Goth

Beach Goth seems to reinvent itself every year and apart from becoming a traveling circus in 2018, they’ve moved to the old sacred festival burial grounds that is Los Angeles Historic Park and become a one-night affair. As always though, the lineup showcases more musical diversity than any festival you could catch in Los Angeles. From legendary old acts like Gwar, Youth of Today, and Doug E. Fresh; to legends of the future like Starcrawler, Bleached, and Kirin J. Calinan. As always, The Growlers are headlining and who knows how they’ll be dressed for the festivities. related content: Beach Goth 4: The Party Of The Year related content: The Growlers Lose The Beach Goth Battle But Won The War This Weekend Janky Smooth is giving you the chance to catch this gathering of oddities and rarities with yet another epic giveaway.
