Insane Clown Posse at House of Blues Anaheim by Chris Mounts

Juggalo Halloween Party: Insane Clown Posse at House Of Blues Anaheim

Insane Clown Posse was not a band I ever expected to see in my lifetime, especially if you would have asked me in my younger years. Between their goofy carnival-sounding production, overly edgy lyrics and imagery, trailer trash fanbase, their beef with Eminem; the list of reasons not to like them upon first impression is endless. As time goes on and Juggalos get older however; the perception of Insane Clown Posse has changed drastically over the years with Vice’s documentary about their Gathering Of The Juggalos festival, their collaborations with Danny Brown and more recently Jelly Roll, and their song Miracles becoming a viral sensation upon its release. ICP are the black sheep of music as a whole, and the world has mostly decided that we were a bit too hard on them over the years. related: OC Did It All For The Nookie: Musink Tattoo Convention And Music Fest 2019 I decided I wasn’t doing my due diligence as a music journalist if I had never experienced them live, and being as they never visit Southern California; this was one of the few chances I had. House Of Blues Anaheim made the ridiculously insane decision to book them right

Sane Clown Posse: ICP’s Album Release at the Regent

The Regent Theater in Downtown LA was recently graced by the gods of Psychopathic Records themselves: Insane Clown Posse. Making an appearance as the hosts of one of their many album release events nationwide on the night Fearless Fred Fury hit shelves, the most wicked clowns took the stage to show some love to the often neglected west coast legion of Juggalos. related content: Whoop Whoop! ICP’s Slam Fest At The Regent: A Family Affair Of the many performances from various regional acts the most striking was theatrical industrial/synth duo Luna 13 who equally enchanted and bored the audience to tears. The edgy theatrical elements quickly wore themselves thin and all that was left was a series of monotone tracks that fell somewhere between Author and Punisher, Otep, and the clearance bin at Hot Topic. This was definitely not the show/audience for this band, but even if it were somewhere else a striptease isn’t a substitution for inventive or soulful music in any situation. related content: Children Of The Night: Doyle At The Whisky With the last minute announcement of the one off show and minimal promotion, most fans weren’t even sure if ICP were actually performing or just showing up to

Whoop Whoop! ICP’s Slam Fest At The Regent: A Family Affair

It feels like I had been waiting to see ICP forever. Having passed up opportunities to see both members perform solo, this stacked bill at the Regent Theater that they deemed Slam Fest, was going to be my induction to the family and just as the posse said, everyone that attended was a Juggalo. Insane Clown Posse is an essential attraction to anyone that wants to claim they’ve seen it all. They put on a show that’s unlike any other and somehow in the last couple of years, they went from mainstream mockery to one of the most relevant groups in the country. When the United States government classified Juggalos as a gang, from coast to coast, this nation’s true first family, got together to protest in their very own million Juggalo march on Washington. I don’t think any other band in the world has as many die hard fans, driven by a true cause, that they could orchestrate a similar historical moment. Not Metallica, not Radiohead, not nobody. related content: Nature World Night Out At The Regent: Building Bridges Between Hardcore And Hip Hop This true rebellion was met with fascination from every mainstream media outlet until ICP saw
