Moon Block Uses Third Eye To Bring Rock and Roll Circus To Teragram

Saturday night rolled up and LA was popping with amazing shows all around town. I made my way down to one of my new favorite venues, The Teragram Ballroom. Our friends at Moon Block were hosting their “Rock n’ Roll Circus”. Yeah I didn’t know what that meant either. The Rock N’ Roll Circus was a line up that consisted of Fever the Ghost, JJUUJJUU, Hott MT, Morgan Delt, and Vinyl Williams. The circus aspect came into play with the fact that it was one long continuous set where members of all acts would switch out over the course of the set. It was broken up into two parts with a “snack time” intermission in-between. The stage was decorated with Chinese lanterns that were made too look like neon eyeballs. The lighting ranged between super intense to non-existent. This factored into the shooting of photos but I just brushed it off and bounced around the room, messing around with different settings. I could barely keep track of who was on stage but it seemed that Phil Pirrone of JJUUJJUU and Moon Block general contributed to a majority of the set. Also, we were graced with Jeffertiti’s presence through various points throughout the set.

On January 9th at The Teragram Ballroom, the fine folks from Moon Block are bringing us the Rock and Roll Circus. The night features performances by Fever the Ghost, Morgan Delt, Vinyl Williams, Hott MT and JJUUJJUU. There will be no switchover times between bands but instead, a continuous stream of rock and roll emanating from the stage of the Teragram Ballroom. We’re not quite sure about the mechanics of it all but we are looking forward to having our faces melted while the bands play hot potato with their guitars! The Moon Block collective has brought us epic festivals such as Moon Block Party and Desert Daze. Their success is built on unique formats like the one they are planning for Rock and Roll Circus on January 9th. Desert Daze 2015: The Festival for the 21st Century

It was 4:30am on Saturday morning. I pulled the Janky Smooth RV into a dusty parking lot. I had been driving this carbon spewing behemoth since 1am, after the hour it took to load it up with instruments, sound equipment and beer- The essentials that would push me through a crazy 36 hours in the Mojave Desert for Desert Daze 2015. There were hints of blue shading the dark desert sky at the edge of the horizon that peaked over some sleepy mountains. A sense of dread washed over me at the sight of this beautiful event. It meant I only had a few hours to get a little bit of sleep before setting up the DNA Vapor sponsored, Janky Smooth Jam Lounge in preparation for our open jam after party.
