Penitentiary School: EYEHATEGOD, Negative Approach, and Sheer Terror at Teragram

You might be asking me how much Eyehategod or Negative Approach coverage is enough and even I sometimes think I’ve seen these bands a few too many times but then, upon hearing those songs kick me in the chest with full force punk attitude, I realize that real life is so monotonous, I could and should only have more of these bands’ music in my life. You can never have enough great music. related content: 1Fest-Los Angeles At Los Globos: Noise As Music As Force Is Farce This show was special though, it wasn’t the headliners that made it a must-see for me but rather The Accused AD and Sheer Terror, who don’t play in Los Angeles all that often. Take This: Win Two Tickets to EYEHATEGOD at Teragram

This is going to be one of the best shows on 2019 because it just features an all star lineup of bands ranging in genres but each of them so gnarly in their own right. Each band has a legendary component to their music and following but for me personally, I can’t wait to see Sheer Terror and The Accused AD. EYEHATEGOD and Negative Approach are incredible every time they perform as well… obviously.   YOU CAN BUY TICKETS HERE OR: ENTER TO WIN 2 TICKETS TO EYEHATEGOD OCTOBER 28NTH AT THE TERAGRAM BALLROOM Step 1- Join Our Newsletter (look for pop up every time you arrive at jankysmooth.com) Step 2 – Tag a Friend in the comment section of our INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, or FACEBOOK EYEHATEGOD Ticket Giveaway Post WINNER WILL BE SELECTED ON OCTOBER 26TH AT 11AM PST VIA EMAIL CONFIRMATION

This was the case for Berserktown, 8BitLA, and now 1Fest: Los Angeles. I’ve learned that taking a risk and just diving into a genre of music without prior knowledge usually only reaps joyful reward. Absorbing too much musical diversity has its drawbacks, though. The mind can expand so much that the brain might start pressing against the inside of the skull and adapt by developing a sort of exo-skeleton, a crust. Brain crust. related content: The Most Complete Sound And Fury 2017 Review On Earth Crust punk and Grindcore- Two genres birthed out of the aesthetics of British Anarchist punk OG’s Crass. Grindcore was first conceptualized by Napalm Death as half political dissidence and half musical farce, with songs that only lasted seconds and little care for actually singing the lyrics live. Grindcore, although as separate from mainstream heavy music as possible, is still thriving and alive because Grindcore is not simply a musical genre but a challenge. It is a challenge to any band to see
